On September 11, the Xiangjiang International Music Season continued at Changsha Concert Hall with a symphony concert featuring world-renowned Chinese violinist Lü Siqing and internationally acclaimed conductor Jorge Soto, who has led the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra. Performing with the Changsha Symphony Orchestra, the evening opened with Barber’s Violin Concerto — widely regarded as one of the 20th century’s greatest — followed by Bruckner’s Symphony No. 4 “Romantic”. The concert drew a full house, with applause lasting long after the final chord.
A day earlier, Lü held a free masterclass for young violinists, offering guidance to three local students. The performance underscores Changsha’s growing status as a destination for world-class classical music.
