At the 2026 Hunan Cross-Border E-Commerce Fair held September 4–6, the city of Changsha — a landlocked metropolis in central China — took center stage with a compelling story: how an inland city built a cross-border e-commerce ecosystem worth over $3.8 billion in annual transactions.
Local giants like Anker Innovations (consumer electronics, $166B H1 revenue) and Maimai Technology (outdoor footwear brand NORTIV 8, which topped TikTok Shop US shoe rankings with 1,200%+ growth) showcased their global reach alongside Sinocare (glucose monitors in 187 countries) and S’YOUNG (premium beauty).
Global platforms deepened ties: Amazon Global Selling announced its first Central China cross-border service hub for 2027, while Walmart Global E-commerce already runs a local office serving Changsha-born brands like SexyTea and Maimai. The message: you don’t need a coastline to sell to the world.
