What was the banquet of the Lady Xin Zhui like? How did the family of Marquis Dai live in Changsha 2,000 years ago? A new documentary titled "Mawangdui" will begin airing on CCTV-1 in China at 18:00, with each episode lasting 50 minutes, offering viewers a chance to explore the lifestyle during the Han Dynasty (202 BC–220 AD).
The entire documentary consists of three episodes, namely "Lady Xin Zhui's Banquet," "Marquis Li Xi's Study," and "Marquis Li Cang's Office." Among them, the episode "Lady Xin Zhui's Banquet" will use a family banquet as the visual foundation by using the technique of scene reproduction and combining with the display of cultural relics. Besides, relying on the cultural relics from the Mawangdui Han Dynasty Tombs, it will depict the living scenes, human customs, and social atmosphere of the people in the early Han Dynasty. With the tech of CG animation, scene reproduction, and 3D printing, the cultural relics displayed at the Hunan Museum will be "copied" into the photography studio, allowing viewers to "travel through time" to experience the charm of Han culture.
